Nokia expected to reveal new Lumia handsets on February 24 at MWC 2014

Nokia has confirmed its presence at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2014 event and started to send out invitations to event being held next month. The Finnish company has made sure it’ll get the good news out early too, and has scheduled its get-together for 8:30am local time on Feb. 24.
The invite gives nothing away with its decidedly cryptic, “Meet us under the tree,” headline, while the text provides only the time, date, location, and a promise to tell us more about the firm’s “activities” as the time nears.
There are up to four new smartphones expected from Nokia, including a new flagship phone named the Lumia 1820. The Nokia Lumia 1820 is expected to feature the latest Snapdragon 805 chipset with 3GB of RAM and a 5.2″ display of 2K resolution. The juicy configuration is going to draw power from a 3,400mAh battery. The internal storage is going to be 32GB with no microSD card.
Other additions to the Lumia family are likely to be the 1520V, 1525 and  the Nokia Normandy. The Lumia 1520V is rumored to be a 4.3″ smartphone with a design similar to that of the Lumia 1520. It will be boasting 1080p resolution, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. It will feature a Snapdragon 800 chipset like its bigger brother, the Lumia 1520.
The mini Lumia 1520V is also said to pack a 14MP camera at the back with a 3,000mAh battery capable of wireless charging. Moreover, it’s believed to debut the Windows Phone 8.1 operating system, but for now those remain unfounded rumors. On the other hand, the proposed Nokia Lumia 1525 will share the same screen size as Lumia 1520, but will apparently share the same specifications as the Lumia 1820. It is said to feature a 6-inch 2K display, and get a revamped rear camera.  At this point, there aren’t much rumors to paint a picture for it.
Lastly, the most-anticipated handset, the rumoured first Nokia budget Android phone, Project Normandyor Nokia X, is expected to be launched at MWC 2014. The handset is  rumored to use a heavily modified version of Android, rather than Windows Phone, as its operating system. It may replace the existing Asha range, which runs on the aging Series 40 platform.
Since, none of the above handsets have been confirmed by the firm, one can only wait till MWC 2014 and We’ll bring you all the news from Nokia’s press event on February 24 as it happens.

Yet another leaked screenshots shows Nokia Normandy’s custom Android UI

After the photo of Nokia’s rumoured Normandy’s UI surfaced online, new leaked screenshots seem to have revealed new details of the yet-to-be-announced first Nokia Android device. Phone tipster, @evleaks has yet again posted a pair of screenshot which it claims shows the alleged Nokia Normandy’s UI.  The tweet said, “Two ways to interact with Normandy.”
The new leaked screenshots of the Normandy’s UI purportedly reveals the home screen and the notifications page. The homescreen screenshot is consistent with what leaked earlier this week.
The right photo shows the app menu, which not only looks like the Windows Phone UI, but also seems to function like a notification menu. The photo shows push-notifications for Facebook, missed calls, Skype, reminders and alarm among others. Another noticeable thing in the photos is the two network bars on top, which indicates that Normandy will feature dual-SIM card slots.
The home screen panel’s leaked screenshot also includes apps for dialer, message, contacts, internet, Twitter, MixRadio, Here Maps, Camera app, Plants Vs. Zombies, Gallery, Vine, Calculator, Calendar, Music, Downloads, Radio, Viber, Opera and WeChat.
It’s worth pointing out that the home screen of the alleged Normandy looks very similar to the tiles-based UI seen on Lumia Windows Phone 8 devices. The tiles seem to be customizable and could be spread across multiple homescreens.
In addition, the leaked home screen panel of Normandy also includes BBM app which points that the device is running an Android version. Normandy is expected to be unveiled at next month’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and is likely to be priced between $100 and $125.
