Do notifications stress you out? [Poll of the Week]

Last week’s poll summary: Out of almost 5,800 total votes, 41.1% of our readers said they’ve destroyed a smartphone, while 38.7% said they haven’t. 16.9% also said they’ve come close to destroying a phone, but never have.

Yeah, they do.

I love the way Android handles notifications, but that doesn’t mean I like looking at them every time I pick up my phone. When notifications start piling up and I have more than a handful of icons waiting for me in the status bar, I get a little stressed out. I’ve even gone as far as blocking some apps from sending notifications because I just don’t want to deal with them. Ever.

Plus, I find that if I let them pile up over time, I ignore things that should be dealt with sooner rather than later. This is a problem for obvious reasons.

Some other people like to live dangerously. Constantly swiping away notifications isn’t their thing, and they don’t get bothered by a cluttered status bar. How they live like this is beyond me.

Do notifications stress you out? Cast your vote in the latest Poll of the Week, and speak up in the comments if you have anything else to add.
