LG’s latest tablet is lighter than a can of soda

LG’s latest Android-powered tablet may not be for everyone, but it sure is light.

The LG G Pad IV 8.0 FHD (catchy name, huh) is the latest tablet in the company’s lineup, and it’s being marketed towards “young people” who need something compact and light enough that will fit in a bag or purse. The tablet sports an 8.0-inch Full HD display (1920 x 1200 resolution), measures 216.2 x 127.0 x 6.9 millimeters, and weighs only 290 grams.

Taking a look at the under-the-hood specs, the G Pad IV 8.0 FHD isn’t the most powerful device out there. Powering this tablet is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor and 2 GB of RAM, along with 32 GB of storage and microSD expansion up to 2 TB. There’s also a 3,000 mAh battery, 5 MP rear and front cameras, and LTE connectivity. It also comes with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.

If you’d like to get your hands on one, you’ll have to be a resident of South Korea. The tablet is now available in LG’s native country in a Dark Brown color option for KRW 352,000, or about $305 USD. LG is also selling the device with something called a PlusPack, which can be used as a stand, an external battery, and a speaker. The PlusPack is available for KRW 82,000, or roughly $71 USD.
