Google brings NBA and NHL real-time updates to Search and Newsstand

Great news for all you sports fans out there. Google is making it easier for you to keep up with the latest scores and news regarding your favorite NBA and NHL teams via both Google Search and the Play Newsstand app.

Google Play Newsstand now offers dedicated NBA and Stanley Cup Playoffs sections showing you play-by-play info of the games you’re interested in. It also combines tons of local as well as national news sources in one place, so you don’t have visit a bunch of different websites to get the info you’re looking for.

Google also wants to make sure that those who don’t use the Newsstand app can also join in on the fun. You now also have the option of checking out scores, videos, latest updates, images, and more directly from NBA, NHL as well as MLB teams you’re rooting for in Google Search. These things will be displayed in what Google calls “Knowledge Panels” that will keep you up to speed with the things that matter to you.
